My Journey

This will be my first time speaking at an international frontend conference, which makes this moment incredibly special for me. From attending community events as a student to mentoring, organizing, speaking locally, and now joining an international speaker lineup, it genuinely feels surreal. Grateful to the Frontend Nation team for the opportunity, and excited to connect with frontend engineers from around the world. 🌍

Had the opportunity to mentor multiple teams at 𝐀𝐈-𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫, organized by Fatimiyah College, working closely with students as they transformed raw ideas into practical, impactful solutions.

Last week, I was invited back to Fatimiyah Boys School for Convocation 2025 and was honored to receive the 𝐀𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐧𝐢 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝. It’s been 9 years since I graduated, and returning to my alma mater was truly special.

It was encouraging to see students go beyond just building projects. As the year comes to an end, I’m grateful for the opportunity to mentor and support aspiring software engineers through mentorship sessions on topmate.io. This series dives deep into essential and advanced JavaScript concepts, equipping our team with valuable skills for innovation and growth Let's keep growing together! 🚀📚

I attended HackCorruption conducted by Accountability Lab and it was an amazing experience. I had the chance to work with incredible people over three days who were equally passionate about coming up with new ways to combat corruption from Pakistan, India, Nepal and Bangladesh. The program was a very educational experience, and I gained much knowledge from the many sessions and workshops that were held. Listening to subject matter experts who kindly shared their wisdom and experiences with us was motivational. I really loved the chance to work with others during the #tech4good hackathon, where we collectively came up with and co-developed solutions to combat corruption.

Language barriers are very much still a real thing. We can take baby steps to help close that. Speech to text and translators have made it a heap easier. But what about for those that maybe don't speak or can't hear? What about them? Well... I used Tensorflow Object Detection API and Python to help reduce that gap, built an end-to-end custom object detection model that allows you to translate sign language in real time.
